President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Presidential Complex in Ankara on Thursday, marking the latest high-level state visit between the two nations.

The ceremonial welcome featured mounted cavalry escorting Mongolian President Ukhnaa’s vehicle to the protocol gate, where Erdogan personally greeted his Mongolian counterpart at the main entrance of the complex.

In a ceremony rich with historical symbolism, the two leaders stood as military bands performed both nations’ national anthems. The event notably featured flags and soldiers representing the 16 historical Turkic states, accompanied by a 21-gun salute, in a symbolic nod to the deep historical connections between the two nations.

President Ukhnaa greeted the Presidential Guard Regiment, after which both presidents introduced their respective delegations. The presidents then posed for photographs before the Turkish and Mongolian flags on the complex steps.

The visit’s agenda includes bilateral talks between the leaders and their delegations, followed by a joint press conference.

President Erdogan will host an official dinner in honor of his Mongolian counterpart.
