Türkiye presents additional evidence to ICC for Netanyahu’s arrest
Türkiye has taken steps to pursue the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
The country has gathered statements from Palestinians, with notarization, to present to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
During recent meetings in The Hague led by a Turkish delegation in collaboration with Istanbul Bar Association No. 2 concerning Israel’s actions in Gaza, five separate folders containing new evidence were presented.
Ismail Emrah Karayel, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Istanbul MP and Co-Chair of the EU-Türkiye Joint Parliamentary Committee, part of the delegation, highlighted that the evidence included notarized statements from women and children in Gaza.
“We have also facilitated medical treatment for injured individuals brought to Turkey from Gaza. Given the restrictions on access to Gaza, we recorded statements from Palestinians both here and via video conference, ensuring a notary was present. We have compiled and submitted these as additional evidence,” Karayel stated.
Karayel added that a dossier of evidence is being prepared regarding Israel’s alleged genocide against Palestinian women and children.
“Seventy percent of those killed are women and children, a clear indication of targeted attacks. Such deliberate targeting falls under the definition of genocide, as it aims to prevent future generations,” he explained.
