The Turkish Ministry of National Defense confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry also stated that preliminary planning and preparations are underway for a possible evacuation operation.

Speaking about the aid to Lebanon amid Israeli attacks and the Turkish Armed Forces’ (TAF) involvement in the evacuation, the ministry officials said: “The TAF has the capability and resources to carry out tasks assigned to it for the safe evacuation of our citizens or citizens of foreign countries from Lebanon, and it has successfully conducted many evacuation operations in the past.

Current developments in Lebanon are being closely monitored in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Preliminary planning and preparations are also being made for a potential evacuation operation. Aid will continue in line with Lebanon’s requests and security conditions, in coordination with other institutions.”
