Türkiye hopes for swift clarity on suspected car attack in Munich

Türkiye expressed optimism on Thursday that the motive behind the suspected car-ramming attack in Munich, Germany, “will be revealed as soon as possible,” following the arrest of a 24-year-old Afghan national.
In a statement, Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry said the country is “deeply saddened” by the incident, which, based on initial assessments, appeared to be a deliberate attack.
The ministry extended wishes for a swift recovery to those injured and stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable.
At least 27 people were injured in the incident, which Bavarian authorities are continuing to investigate. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann confirmed the arrest of the suspect shortly after the attack.
