On Thursday, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat signed an agreement to commence negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

According to Albudaiwi, this agreement highlights the strong and strategic partnership between the two parties.

Albudaiwi also emphasized that the agreement demonstrates successful cooperation at regional and international levels in the areas of commerce, economy, and finance.

He mentioned the collaborative efforts between Türkiye and the GCC nations, which contribute to enhancing economic ties. There is a shared aspiration to collaborate further to expand trade and investment opportunities.

Albudaiwi underlined that the GCC countries are actively involved in free trade discussions with various nations. This initiative aims to create trade prospects, encourage economic collaboration, and open markets for their products and services.

He noted that these efforts are part of the GCC’s strategy to broaden income sources and promote economic development.
