Diplomatic talks between Türkiye and Greece continue to progress this month with a series of key meetings in Athens, signaling ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.

Following a “positive agenda” meeting, the two countries delegations are set to engage in a “political dialogue” session today.

Meetings on positive agenda, political dialogue

The discussions between Turkish and Greek representatives are part of an ongoing series aimed at fostering cooperation and mutual understanding.

On Dec. 2-3, Türkiye and Greece held “positive agenda” and “political dialogue” meetings, with both focused on enhancing bilateral ties in areas ranging from economic cooperation to regional stability.

Türkiye’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay is leading the Turkish delegation at both meetings.

The positive agenda talks primarily revolved around fostering cooperation, with a focus on constructive dialogue. The next session, dedicated to political dialogue, is scheduled for today.

Smart cities hackathon to foster innovation

One of the key highlights of the ongoing discussions is the announcement of a “Smart Cities” Hackathon, which aims to boost innovation and collaboration between young people from both countries.

The hackathon, which is open for applications, will encourage Turkish and Greek youth to collaborate and develop solutions for urban challenges, further promoting cooperation and mutual understanding.

The hackathon will culminate in a last event to be held in Türkiye on Feb. 20, 2025, with the award ceremony scheduled for Feb. 27 in Athens.

The competition is seen as a significant step toward strengthening ties between the two nations, particularly in technology and innovation.
