Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Oncu Keceli announced that Türkiye’s application for intervention in the genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice will be submitted on Wednesday.

Keceli’s statement on his social media account states that the Turkish ambassador to The Hague will submit the application to the court at 4:30 p.m. Turkish time.

Keceli stated that the application has been prepared in an extremely comprehensive and detailed manner, and it is based on Article 63 of the Court’s Statute.

“No country in the world is above international law,” Keceli said, emphasizing that the case before the International Court of Justice is important to ensure that Israel’s crimes do not go unpunished.

He also called on Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza and to implement the precautionary measures in opening the Rafah border crossing for humanitarian aid. Keceli urged the U.N. Security Council to do its part and stated that Türkiye will continue to support the Palestinians’ just cause.
