Türkiye expresses solidarity with Kazakhstan amid deadly floods
We are deeply saddened by the devastating floods in various regions of Kazakhstan, says Foreign Ministry
The Foreign Ministry Sunday announced the country stands in solidarity with the people and government of Kazakhstan as devastating floods wreak havoc in multiple regions of the Asian country.
“We are deeply saddened by the devastating floods in various regions of Kazakhstan,” it said.
The catastrophe has inflicted “serious damage,” forcing tens of thousands of Kazakhstanis to evacuate.
Expressing heartfelt condolences “to the people and Government of Kazakhstan,” the ministry said Türkiye is “ready to provide any assistance” to aid in the recovery efforts and alleviate the suffering caused by this disaster.
The Central Asian country is hit by the worst flooding in three decades.
Waters are set to rise further as snow melts across the vast Kazakh steppe, the country’s meteorological agency has warned.
It described the situation as “complicated” in five regions in the north and east, on the border with Russia, and said road links had been cut off to 50 settlements.
