Türkiye eliminates 6 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, Syria
The Turkish Defense Ministry announced that six members of the separatist terrorist organization were eliminated in operations in northern Iraq and Syria.
The ministry stated that the Turkish Armed Forces continue their “unpredictable, unconventional, rapid, and continuous operations” to eliminate terrorism at its source.
“Turkish forces neutralized four PKK terrorists in the Asos region of northern Iraq and two PKK/YPG terrorists in the Euphrates Shield region,” the statement said. Turkish authorities use the term “neutralize” to imply that the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
The PKK, which has been threatening the territorial integrity of Türkiye, Iraq, Syria, and Iran, has killed and injured thousands of Turkish citizens since its first attack in Siirt in 1981.
