Türkiye detains 41 irregular migrants in nationwide operations

Security forces apprehended a total of 41 irregular migrants and four human traffickers in operations conducted across Ardahan, Tekirdag, Edirne, and Kirklareli.

The migrants, who had illegally entered Türkiye, were taken into custody and transferred to migration management centers for further processing, while the human traffickers were detained for legal action.

As part of anti-migration efforts, Ardahan police stopped two vehicles on the Savsat highway, capturing six Afghan nationals. A search of one individual revealed a small amount of a suspected drug substance.

Meanwhile, in Tekirdag, police intercepted two more vehicles, leading to the arrest of eight irregular migrants and the detention of two individuals accused of human trafficking.

In Edirne, authorities intensified their inspections and apprehended 14 irregular migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Similarly, in Kirklareli, security forces conducted checks near the Derekoy Border Gate and Kofcaz district, capturing 13 migrants attempting to cross illegally.

A total of four individuals were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, while all detained migrants were handed over to the respective Provincial Directorates of Migration Management. Investigations into the human trafficking networks continue.
