Turkish authorities have detained 105 individuals suspected of links to the Daesh terrorist organization in nationwide security operations conducted between March 19 and 27, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on Friday.

23-province operation targets suspected Daesh network

According to Yerlikaya, the counterterrorism operations were coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Offices in conjunction with the Gendarmerie General Command’s Counterterrorism Department and the Security General Directorate’s Counterterrorism Department.

Provincial police and gendarmerie units conducted simultaneous raids in 23 provinces.

The suspects are accused of being members of Daesh, financing terrorist activities, and disseminating the group’s propaganda via social media platforms.

Authorities also reported the seizure of numerous organizational documents and digital materials during the operations.

Türkiye vows to continue counterterrorism efforts

Interior Minister Yerlikaya emphasized that Türkiye will continue its operations against terrorist groups across all regions of the country, stating that efforts are ongoing “365 days a year, day and night.”

He also commended the prosecutors who coordinated the operations, as well as the police and gendarmerie personnel who carried them out.
