Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military operations in the West Bank on Wednesday, describing the actions as illegal. The Ministry also criticized remarks made by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who suggested that measures currently being enforced in Gaza would be extended to the West Bank.

In a written statement, the Ministry stated, “We strongly condemn Israel’s illegal operation initiated in the West Bank and the declaration by the Israeli Foreign Minister that the practices in Gaza will be extended to the West Bank.” The statement further accused the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of pursuing “genocidal policies” against the Palestinian people, warning that these actions pose a significant threat to international security.

The Ministry emphasized the necessity of implementing “criminal and coercive measures” against Israel’s actions, which it claims blatantly disregard international law. The statement also called on the “handful” of countries that unconditionally support Israel to reconsider their stance, urging them to abandon what it termed as a position contrary to both the law and the conscience of humanity.
