Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that Turkish authorities have detained two foreign nationals sought by Interpol with red notices for various crimes, including drug trafficking.

Regardless of the nature or scale of the crimes, Yerlikaya emphasized Türkiye’s unwavering commitment to combating organized crime, drug trafficking and gangs that disrupt public peace.

The apprehended individuals are Sead Dedeic, a Montenegrin national wanted by France for drug trafficking and other offenses, and Marciano Eugene Ruimwijk, a Dutch national sought by the Netherlands.

Dedeic was captured upon entering Türkiye through the Edirne Ipsala Land Border Gate on February 28, 2024, following the issuance of an Interpol red notice in April 2024.

Similarly, Ruimwijk was apprehended upon entry into the country after being subject to a red diffusion message in April 2024.

Minister Yerlikaya commended the diligent efforts of the police officers involved in these operations, underscoring Türkiye’s dedication to upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
