Türkiye becomes center of attention in Africa
President of the German Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, Ulf Laessing, Wednesday penned an analysis of Türkiye’s influence in Africa, emphasizing the surge in the number of Turkish embassies on the continent, which has risen from 12 to 44.
Laessing also highlighted President Erdogan’s engagements with African leaders.

Laessing underscored Africa’s emergence as a significant market for Turkish companies, citing the substantial demand for Bayraktar drones since the Libyan Civil War.

Alongside construction firms engaged in extensive infrastructure projects across Africa, numerous Turkish companies operate in diverse sectors ranging from textiles to gastronomy. From fashion to furniture, Turkish products are readily available in many African countries,” Laessing said.

“Türkiye generously offers scholarships to students from Africa and maintains a network of Turkish schools on the continent through the Maarif Foundation to prepare them. This represents a valuable investment, considering Africa boasts the youngest population globally,” Laessing concluded.
