Türkiye arrests 14 terrorists plotting attack in Istanbul counterterrorism operation

Turkish authorities have arrested 14 individuals in Istanbul suspected of links to the armed terrorist group Daesh.
The operation was carried out as part of an ongoing investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to uncover the group’s activities and potential threats.
Terrorist suspects identified and raids conducted
Authorities had identified 20 individuals reportedly classified as foreign terrorist members with connections to conflict zones and operatives in those areas.
Intelligence suggested that some of the suspects posed a potential threat to Türkiye, leading to a targeted operation.
Security forces conducted simultaneous raids across nine districts and 18 locations in Istanbul. As a result, 14 suspects were taken into custody, while efforts continue to locate and detain the remaining individuals.

Investigation and security measures continue
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that the operation aimed to prevent possible attacks and disrupt the activities of individuals suspected of planning hostile acts.
Authorities have yet to release additional details on the status of the detained suspects or the nature of the reported threats.
