Türkiye and Armenia have taken another step toward normalizing relations. The fifth round of talks between special representatives from both countries concluded with reaffirmation of previous agreements, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement also mentioned that “they agreed to facilitate visa procedures for diplomatic/official passport holders.”

The Ministry’s statement included the following:

The Special Representatives for the Türkiye-Armenia Normalization Process, Ambassador Serdar Kilic and Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan, held their fifth meeting at the Alican-Margara border gate on July 30. The Special Representatives confirmed the matters agreed upon in their previous meetings.

Additionally, the ministry announced that an agreement was reached to ease visa procedures.

The Special Representatives also confirmed their commitment to continue the process, with the ultimate goal of full normalization, without preconditions.
