Türkiye and Uzbekistan sign 18 agreements in landmark bilateral meeting

In a significant step towards bolstering bilateral relations, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev oversaw the signing of 18 agreements between Türkiye and Uzbekistan on Thursday. The signing ceremony followed a high-level meeting held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

Erdogan and Mirziyoyev co-chaired the 3rd Türkiye-Uzbekistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting after their bilateral discussions. The agreements are aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors, reflecting a deepening of the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The agreements signed are as follows:

• A protocol of intent between the Turkish Justice Academy and the Uzbekistan Ministry of Justice Legal Training Center.
• A protocol on cooperation to improve higher education institution career centers, between Türkiye’s Presidential Human Resources Office and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.
• A cooperation protocol between Türkiye’s Presidential Human Resources Office and Uzbekistan’s Presidential Academy of Public Administration.
• A protocol on technical assistance and capacity building for Uzbekistan’s WTO accession, signed between Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade and Uzbekistan’s Special Representative for WTO Affairs.
• A cooperation protocol on product safety and quality infrastructure between Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade and Uzbekistan’s Uzbek Technical Regulation Agency.
• A protocol of intent on media and communication cooperation between Türkiye’s Presidential Directorate of Communications and Uzbekistan’s Presidential Information and Mass Communications Agency.
• An arrangement to expand the Preferential Trade Agreement between Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
• A cooperation plan on agricultural development between Türkiye’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
• A protocol of intent on agricultural education and extension services between Türkiye’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
• A cooperation agreement between Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology and Uzbekistan’s Uzbek Technical Regulation Agency.
• A cooperation agreement on scientific, engineering, and high technology fields between the governments of Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
• An agreement to enhance regional development cooperation between Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
• A protocol of intent on tourism cooperation between Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee.
• A protocol of intent on cultural cooperation between Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture.
• A protocol on energy transformation between Türkiye’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy.
• A cooperation protocol on cadastre services between Türkiye’s General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre and Uzbekistan’s Cadastre Agency.
• A declaration of intent on cooperation in family and women’s affairs between Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services and Uzbekistan’s Committee on Family and Women.
• A protocol of intent on peaceful uses of space, space sciences, technologies, and applications, signed by Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies.
