Türkiye agrees to provide military drones to Egypt
Türkiye agrees to provide drones as President Erdogan will be visiting Egypt to discuss bilateral and regional matters, including trade, energy, and security
After the two nations restored relations after a ten-year break, Türkiye agreed to give Egypt its ever more popular drones, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Sunday.
On Feb. 14, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will visit Egypt to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. This will be Erdogan’s first trip to Egypt since Ankara and Cairo strengthened their relations by designating ambassadors to each other last year.
Fidan informed private media that Sisi and the President Erdogan would talk about bilateral and regional matters, like as trade, energy, and security.
Fidan stated that Egypt needs to normalize its relations in order to possess certain technology. Without providing any details, he said “We have an arrangement to offer (Egypt) unmanned aerial vehicles and other technologies.”
Turkish drones are in high demand abroad due to their involvement in the wars in Syria, Libya, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine.
