Türkiye achieves first jet engine export with KTJ-3200 Turbojet to Brazil

Türkiye’s defense industry reached a new milestone by securing its first-ever jet engine export.
Kale Jet Engines, a subsidiary of Kale Group, signed an agreement with Brazilian defense company SIATT for the supply of KTJ-3200 turbojet engines. The contract was finalized during the LAAD Defense and Security Exhibition in Brazil.
According to Kale’s announcement, the agreement covers the export and integration of the KTJ-3200 turbojet missile engine into Brazil’s MANSUP-ER anti-ship missile system, developed by SIATT.

KTJ-3200 to power MANSUP-ER missile program
The KTJ-3200, Türkiye’s first domestically developed turbojet missile engine, will be integrated into the MANSUP-ER anti-ship cruise missile. The same turbojet missile engine is also integrated into Türkiye’s first indigenous anti-ship missile, Atmaca.
The missile is a core component of Brazil’s naval defense strategy and is designed to reach over 200 kilometers in range with a 150-kilogram warhead.
Developed under the leadership of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), the KTJ-3200 has already been used in the Atmaca and SOM missile systems, designed by Roketsan and TUBITAK-SAGE, respectively.
Key specifications of the KTJ-3200:
- 330 mm diameter
- 50 kg weight
- 3200 Newton thrust
- Two variants developed
- Low specific fuel consumption
The engine enables cruise missile systems to perform with high efficiency and reduced dependence on foreign suppliers, especially after earlier engines were restricted by export controls.

Strategic collaboration with Brazil and UAE-based EDGE Group
The KTJ-3200 will be supplied for the MANSUP-ER missile, which is expected to enter service with the Brazilian Navy and potentially the UAE Navy.
SIATT, a subsidiary of the UAE-based EDGE Group, is leading the MANSUP-ER development in collaboration with the Brazilian Navy.
In 2023, EDGE signed a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Armed Forces for both MANSUP and its extended-range version, MANSUP-ER.
The partnership has since evolved to include intellectual property agreements and plans for local integration onto Brazil’s Tamandare-class frigates by late 2025.
EDGE is also in talks with potential clients across Africa, Asia, and Latin America and has signed a $300 million contract with the UAE Armed Forces for the MANSUP systems.

High-level endorsement from Turkish defense officials
Reportedly commenting on the agreement, Türkiye’s Presidency of Defense Industries head Haluk Gorgun highlighted the importance of the export deal and said, “Within the scope of the LAAD Defense & Security Fair held in Brazil, Kale Jet Engines, which develops turbine missile engines with domestic and national facilities, signed a contract with the Brazilian defense industry company SIATT for the export of turbojet missile engines.”
“This agreement is not only an export success, but also a concrete manifestation of Türkiye’s vision to develop high-tech, high value-added products and increase its global competitiveness,” he said.
“The Turkish defense industry has now reached a structure that not only meets its own needs, but also offers advanced technology systems to friendly and allied countries,” he added.
While increasing the localization rate in our defense industry, our primary goals are to strengthen our effectiveness in international markets and reinforce our country’s position as a technology exporter. In this context, I sincerely congratulate all our sector employees who have contributed.”
“With our national technologies, we will continue our determination to make Türkiye a global leader in the defense industry by further increasing our cooperation with friendly and cooperative countries.
Secretary of Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) Assoc. Dr. Haluk Gorgun
He added that such achievements strengthen Türkiye’s position as a technology-exporting nation and further its goal to become a global defense industry leader.
