In the wake of the recent incident where members of the Turkish Youth Union, known for their socialist and nationalist ideology, placed a sack over the head of an American soldier in Izmir, the group vowed to continue such actions.

The Turkish Youth Union, known for its Eurasianist leanings and advocating for Türkiye to develop closer relations with Russia and China, has recently gained attention for actions involving placing sacks over the heads of American soldiers.

Most recently, on Monday, members of the group placed a sack over the head of an American soldier in Izmir.

Turkish Youth Union announced that the act, targeting a soldier serving on a U.S. ship sent to the Mediterranean in support of Israel, was organized to send a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people. Turkish Youth Union sources indicate that these actions against American soldiers will continue.

Speaking to Türkiye Today, a Turkish Youth Union official, who wished to remain anonymous, recalled that American soldiers placed sacks over the heads of 14 Turkish soldiers in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, on July 4, 2003. He stated that their actions were motivated by a desire for revenge.

Sources from the Turkish Youth Union revealed that they have placed sacks over the heads of seven American soldiers so far. They plan to continue this action until they reach the 14th soldier and intend to repeat the process with seven more soldiers.

In a statement following the incident in Izmir, the Turkish Youth Union declared they would not allow American soldiers, who they claim have Palestinian blood on their hands, to roam freely in Türkiye.

During their actions, the Turkish Youth Union used the slogan “Go Home Yankee.” Prior to the incident in Izmir, they had placed sacks over the heads of six American soldiers. Additionally, the Turkish Youth Union once mistakenly targeted a tourist, believing him to be an American soldier, which led to widespread discussion on social media.
