Turkish soldiers have been actively involved in relief efforts following the devastating earthquakes that struck Türkiye on Feb. 6, 2023. 

In the aftermath of the earthquakes, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) swiftly mobilized to assist affected communities and provide essential support. Soldiers worked tirelessly to rescue survivors trapped under rubble, provide medical aid and distribute humanitarian assistance.

TSK has set up 23,553 tents in Kahramanmaras, 7,602 in Malatya, 3,405 in Adiyaman, 2,465 in Diyarbakir, 1,970 in Sanlıurfa, 4,720 in Gaziantep, 3,163 in Osmaniye, 22,392 in Hatay, and 2,609 in Adana.

On the first anniversary of the earthquakes, Turkish soldiers continued their efforts to aid in the recovery from the disaster. They remained actively engaged on the ground, collaborating with other relief organizations and volunteers to rebuild homes, schools, and infrastructure in the affected areas.

Military officials emphasized the importance of solidarity and cooperation in overcoming the challenges posed by natural disasters. They expressed gratitude for the resilience and strength shown by the affected communities and reaffirmed the military’s dedication to supporting them throughout the reconstruction phase.

As Türkiye commemorates the first anniversary of the Feb. 6 earthquakes, the presence of its soldiers on the ground serves as a testament to the nation’s unwavering resolve to stand united in the face of adversity and to rebuild stronger than before.
