Turkish forces eliminate 32 militants in ongoing operations, reaffirming commitment to counterterrorism efforts

Turkish forces eliminated 32 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, specifically in the areas of Haftanin, Gara, and Hakurk, as part of Operation Claw-Lock.

The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement: “Brave, Resolute, and Capable. Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces eliminated 32 PKK terrorists identified in the Haftanin, Gara, Hakurk, and Claw-Lock Operation areas in northern Iraq. We will not allow terrorist organizations to raise their heads, and we will continue our fight with determination until not a single terrorist remains in the area.”

Türkiye launched the Claw series of operations in northern Iraq in 2019. These operations targeted areas like Hakurk, Metina, Zap, Gara, Avashin-Basyan, Sinat-Haftanin, Kandil and Asos, which the PKK and its supporters used for activities like recruitment, shelter, logistical support, and planning actions against Türkiye.

Claw-Lock operation is the latest operation within the Claw series.
