Turkish security forces announced the elimination of two PKK/YPG terrorists in northern Syria, according to the country’s National Defense Ministry.
The ministry said that the Turkish Armed Forces, in their ongoing operations against PKK/YPG terrorists in the Olive Branch region, successfully neutralized the two individuals.
The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S., and the E.U., has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 individuals in its nearly four-decade-long terror campaign against Turkey.
Ankara has conducted three significant anti-terror operations in northern Syria since 2016 — Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019) — aimed at preventing the establishment of a terror corridor and facilitating the peaceful resettlement of local residents.
