Turkish security forces kill 16 PKK terrorists, including key leaders, in a decisive operation near the Turkish border in northern Iraq, underscoring the nation’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism

Turkish security forces have eliminated 16 PKK terrorists, including several key leaders, in a recent operation near the Turkish border in northern Iraq, announced the country’s National Defense Ministry on Monday.

The operation, conducted in the Hakurk, Metina, and Gara regions of northern Iraq, resulted in the elimination of the terrorists, as confirmed by the ministry.

Emphasizing their unwavering commitment to combat terrorism and rid the nation of its threats, the ministry reaffirmed their relentless efforts to eradicate terrorist elements.

“Our determination to root out terrorist activities remains steadfast, with increasing effectiveness and relentless pressure,” stated the ministry.

Notorious for utilizing northern Iraq as a base for planning attacks against Türkiye, the PKK continues to pose a significant threat to regional security.

With a history spanning nearly four decades, the PKK’s terror campaign has led to the loss of over 40,000 lives in Türkiye, including innocent civilians, women, and children, solidifying its status as a terrorist organization recognized by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union.
