President Recep Tayyip Erdogan continues his intensive diplomatic efforts with a two-day official visit to Spain. He is scheduled to meet with Spanish King Felipe VI on the first day of his visit and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on the second day.

Key agenda: Gaza

One of the central topics during President Erdogan’s meetings will be the situation in Gaza. Spain officially recognized Palestine on May 28, a move that Erdogan praised. Detailed discussions with Spanish counterparts are expected, focusing on halting Israeli attacks in Gaza and achieving lasting peace in the region.

In addition to Gaza, global developments and Türkiye-Spain relations will be on the table. President Erdogan and Prime Minister Sanchez will co-chair the eighth intergovernmental summit between Türkiye and Spain.

Several agreements in trade, finance, culture, and sports are anticipated to be signed during the summit.

Erdogan is also expected to attend the opening of a business forum involving Turkish and Spanish business leaders.
