Turkish military trains Kosovo soldiers on Vuran use
The Turkish Representation Mission, within NATO’s Kosovo Force, conducted training for Kosovo Security Force soldiers on the proper and efficient use of the multipurpose armored vehicle Vuran
The Kosovo Security Force (KSF) has announced a strategic partnership with the Turkish military focused on bolstering the combat proficiency of its troops.
Under this collaboration, Turkish military instructors have been conducting training sessions to familiarize KSF soldiers with the effective and secure operation of the Turkish armored vehicle Vuran. This training initiative is part of KSF’s broader development plan, which leverages support from international allies to elevate its capabilities and strive for the same standards of excellence seen in NATO armed forces.
Founded in 2009, KSF aims to manage crises in Kosovo and other areas, participate in civil defense operations, and provide assistance during natural disasters and emergencies. In 2018, KSF started the process of becoming an armed force through legal modifications. The duration of the transformation process is anticipated to be 10 years.
Since 1999, Turkish soldiers deployed as part of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) have made a significant contribution to the development of the KSF into a fully equipped military force. Furthermore, KSF’s military arsenal comprises a wide range of Turkish products, including Vuran.
