Turkish foundation distributes Eid donations to Muslims in need in South Sudan
On Sunday, the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation distributed meat to approximately 2,000 vulnerable Muslims in South Sudan in celebration of Eid al-Adha.
Turkish Ambassador to South Sudan, Erdem Mutaf, emphasized the ongoing efforts of Türkiye’s developmental and aid agencies in South Sudan, aimed at assisting those in need throughout the country.
During the meat distribution event in Juba, Mutaf expressed gratitude to Türkiye Diyanet Foundation and the South Sudan Islamic Council for their collaborative efforts with the Turkish embassy. He highlighted that such partnerships symbolize Türkiye’s goodwill towards the people of South Sudan, facilitated by voluntary contributions from the Turkish populace.
Similar activities across 30 locations
Mutaf noted that the foundation conducted similar meat distribution activities across 30 locations in Central Equatoria state, where the capital city is situated.
Selahattin Aydin, representing Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, underscored their commitment to extending assistance to needy individuals in various regions of South Sudan.
Abdalla Baraj, Secretary-General of the South Sudan Islamic Council, conveyed appreciation to Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, the Turkish government, and its citizens for their generous support to vulnerable communities in South Sudan.
