47 irregular migrants, including 22 children, rescued off the coast of Dikili in Izmir, Türkiye, after their boat experienced engine failure and went adrift, according to a statement from the Coast Guard Command

In the vicinity of the Dikili district of Izmir, 47 irregular migrants, including 22 children, were rescued.

According to a statement on the Turkish Coast Guard Command’s website, a team was dispatched to the area upon receiving information that the boat carrying irregular migrants went adrift due to engine failure and requested assistance.

The team rescued and brought ashore 47 irregular migrants, including 22 children, from the inflatable boat.

After processing, the migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
