Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense announced that Turkish forces eliminated 17 PKK terrorists in the operation areas in northern Iraq and Syria.

The statement from the defense ministry stated: “Our fight against terrorism continues effectively and decisively. Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces neutralized 8 PKK terrorists in the Hakurk and Claw-Sword regions in northern Iraq, and 9 PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the Operation Euphrates Shield and Operation Peace Spring areas in northern Syria.”

Türkiye has increased its airstrikes and counterterrorism efforts in northern Syria and Iraq, responding to heightened aggression from PKK/YPG terrorists in the region.

The PKK, recognized as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, Britain, and the European Union, has been responsible for more than 40,000 civilian and security personnel casualties in Türkiye over nearly four decades of terrorist activities.
