Turkish security forces have eliminated at least four PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, the National Defense Ministry announced Tuesday.

The operation, conducted in the Operation Claw-Lock zone, targeted the terrorists, including Yusuf Kalkan, who was listed in the red category of Türkiye’s most-wanted list.

Kalkan, codenamed “Sevkan Cele,” faced charges for membership and leadership in an armed terrorist organization.

Türkiye’s wanted list is categorized into five colors, with red denoting the most sought-after individuals.

The PKK terrorist organization frequently uses northern Iraq, near the Turkish border, as a base to orchestrate attacks against Türkiye.

Classified as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S. and the EU, PKK terrorists have been responsible for over 40,000 deaths, including women, children and infants, during its nearly 40-year insurgency against Türkiye.
