Turkish forces eliminate 19 PKK/YPG terrorists in Iraq, Syria
Turkish forces have neutralized 15 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq’s Hakurk and Asos regions, and four PKK/YPG terrorists in Syria’s Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring regions, said the Ministry of National Defense on Saturday.
“In honor of those fallen, our nation and our homeland, we continue our relentless fight against terrorism. Our brave Turkish Armed Forces have eliminated 15 PKK terrorists in Hakurk and Asos and four PKK/YPG terrorists in the Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring regions,” the ministry affirmed its ongoing commitment to combating terrorism.
“We remain dedicated to proactive and uninterrupted operations to eradicate terrorism at its source,” the statement added.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S. and the EU, is responsible for over 40,000 deaths, including women, children, and babies, during its nearly 40-year campaign of terror against Türkiye.
The YPG is considered an extension of the PKK in Syria.
