Iran-Türkiye cooperation and regional security

Today, Fidan is set to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The meeting will emphasize the importance of enhancing cooperation between Ankara and Tehran in various sectors, including counterterrorism efforts.

Fidan is expected to highlight Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and increasing bilateral trade with Iran. Diplomatic insiders suggest that Türkiye will also call for restraint amid escalating regional tensions, specifically in light of Israeli actions.

Counterterrorism collaboration

While Türkiye and Iran maintain a unified stance on counterterrorism, Turkish officials expect more decisive steps in certain areas to boost the effectiveness of this collaboration.
