A Turkish delegation led by the Chairman of Türkiye’s Defense Industries (SSB), professor Haluk Gorgun met with Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Talal Bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi during an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

The talks, held in Jeddah, focused on strengthening defense industry cooperation between the two countries.
Also in attendance were Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of National Defense Bilal Durdali and senior executives from leading Turkish defense companies.
The meeting discussed expanding the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, with a particular emphasis on developing joint defense projects.
Focus on strengthening defense ties
During the talks, both sides explored ways to deepen bilateral defense cooperation. The discussions revolved around the advancement of technological capabilities and joint production efforts in defense manufacturing.
Professor Gorgun highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating: “The strong defense industry cooperation we have established with Saudi Arabia marks a new era in technological development and joint production processes.”
“This strategic step will not only strengthen our defense capabilities with our brotherly nation and contribute to regional security, but also enhance our global competitiveness.”
“The projects undertaken between our two nations will solidify our shared vision in the defense industry while accelerating technological innovation and enabling concrete steps for the future,” he said.
“This partnership, based on friendship and strategic cooperation, will continue to enhance regional peace and security while shaping our future through new technologies and production processes in the defense sector. Together, we are moving confidently towards the future, realizing our strategic goals,” he added.

The meeting set the stage for broader collaboration between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, with both parties agreeing that new initiatives in the defense industry would contribute to both regional and global security.
