Turkish defense officials hold strategic meetings in Azerbaijan
A high-level delegation from Türkiye’s defense industry, led by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) Chairman, Prof. Dr. Haluk Gorgun, visited Azerbaijan to engage in a series of strategic meetings with Azerbaijani defense and technology officials.
The discussions aimed at deepening cooperation between the two nations in the defense sector.
Discussions with Azerbaijani authorities
The Turkish delegation, which included top executives from Turkish defense companies, held extensive meetings with representatives from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Defense Industry, and Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation.
The talks focused on joint projects and technological collaborations in the defense sector, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships between the two countries.
Discussions on Defense industry collaboration
During the visit, Gorgun met with Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Minister, Vugar Mustafayev.
The meeting centered on evaluating potential collaborations and projects in the defense industry, with both sides highlighting strong ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Defense Industry Ministry issued a statement noting that Minister Mustafayev briefed Gorgun on recent advancements in Azerbaijan’s defense sector, including outcomes and future plans.
Emphasis on strengthening defense ties
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense also released a statement underscoring the belief in continued growth of defense industry cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The statement highlighted that comprehensive meetings were held to discuss ongoing and potential projects, further solidifying the defense relationship between the two countries.
Addressing Azerbaijan’s military needs
Throughout meetings, Turkish defense capabilities and expertise were shared with Azerbaijani officials, focusing on addressing needs of the Azerbaijani military.
