Turkish defense manufacturer Canik announced Tuesday that it is seeking to forge new partnerships at the Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX-2024), which runs from Tuesday through Thursday.

Canik, along with its partner companies AEI Systems and Unirobotics, is showcasing a range of defense products at the three-day event. The exhibit includes the Canik M2 QCB heavy machine gun, a 12.7×99 mm firearm currently used by the Azerbaijani Navy.

Other models on display, such as the Canik M2F and Canik M3, have also garnered attention from attendees, highlighting the company’s diverse range of defense solutions.

In addition to Canik’s offerings, AEI Systems is presenting its low-recoil VENOM LR medium-caliber cannon, and Unirobotics is showcasing its advanced Remote-Controlled Weapon System (RCWS). The exhibition serves as a platform for these companies, which operate under the Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) group, to engage with potential partners and expand their military cooperation in the region.

Didem Aral, a Canik board member responsible for foreign trade, emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan as a strategic partner and highlighted the company’s efforts to deepen bilateral defense ties.

“We are committed to providing high-quality and reliable products to meet Azerbaijan’s defense needs,” Aral said, noting that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ use of Canik’s products, particularly the M2 QCB, underscores the strength of the defense relationship between the two nations.

Aral expressed optimism about the opportunities presented by ADEX-2024 to strengthen existing relationships and establish new strategic partnerships.

“With our proven solutions across different regions, we aim to represent both Canik and Türkiye’s defense industry capabilities and take on new responsibilities. We strive to increase the high satisfaction we have achieved in Azerbaijan with new products,” she added, reaffirming the company’s goal of becoming a trusted name in the global defense sector.
