Türkiye and Malaysia strengthened their defense and technology cooperation through multiple agreements signed during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official visit to Malaysia, marking a significant expansion of bilateral relations in the defense sector.
Haluk Gorgun, head of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), signed several agreements with Malaysian authorities, including the Ministry of Defense, National Security Council, and Selangor State Government. The agreements cover smart city security, traffic system solutions, communication systems, and advanced security technologies.
During the DEIK Malaysia-Türkiye Business Forum, three major cooperation deals were sealed: Aselsan partnered with Sapura for communications technology, while Aselsan-Havelsan signed an agreement with Lunas Shipyard for naval platform modernization. Additionally, Havelsan and MIMOS-Techinsight agreed to collaborate on artificial intelligence projects.
“Seeing our defense industry rise to a strong position in the international arena is a source of pride,” Gorgun said during the forum, where he presented Türkiye’s defense industry vision and current collaborative projects between the two nations.
