Turkish consumer confidence sees a slight uptick to 79.4 in March, with positive expectations for future finances, according to TurkStat’s latest report
The Consumer Confidence Index in Türkiye stood at 79.4 in March, showing a slight increase of 0.02% compared to February, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Wednesday.
Within the sub-indexes, there was a 0.9% rise in households’ expectations for their financial situation over the next 12 months. Additionally, expectations for the general economic situation over the next year increased by 0.4%.
On the other hand, the index for households’ current financial situation and intention to spend on durable goods in the coming year decreased by 0.7% and 0.5%, respectively.
In February, the confidence index was recorded at 79.3.
The results, based on a monthly survey, are assessed on a scale of 0 to 200.
An index above 100 indicates optimism, while below 100 suggests a pessimistic outlook.
