Turkish authorities seized 825 kilograms (1818.8 pounds) of heroin hidden in coffee cans during the “Narkocelik-50” operation in Adana, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, announced on social media.
Months-long investigation leads to major drug bust
The operation was conducted under the coordination of the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Anti-Narcotics Crime Directorate of the General Directorate of Security.
The Adana Narcotics Branch led the raid, which was the culmination of a 10-month investigation.
During the operation, officers intercepted a vehicle and discovered 825 kilograms of heroin concealed in 1,512 coffee cans. One suspect was detained.
