Turkish authorities nab 90 suspects in anti-FETO operations
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 90 suspects were apprehended in the “Kiskac-18” operations against FETO (Fetullah Terrorist Organization) conducted across 17 provinces.
The operations, which took place over the past four days, targeted individuals associated with the FETO, which orchestrated the July 15 coup attempt that left many people dead and injured.
In a statement on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to rooting out FETO elements, stating: “We will not allow FETO members to breathe. Our operations will continue with determination through the exceptional efforts of our security forces to ensure the peace, unity, and solidarity of our noble nation.”
The suspects were identified as part of the so-called “Security Confidential Structure, Judiciary Confidential Structure and Current Structure” of FETO.
They had been communicating via payphones and were in contact with key figures within the organization.
The operations uncovered that these individuals were hiding in what the organization refers to as “safe houses” and had outstanding prison sentences and warrants related to FETO investigations.
