Infamous Turkish murderer and his accomplice mother are apprehended in the US
Renowned writer Eylem Tok and her 17-year-old son, T.C., were apprehended in the United States on Friday after fleeing Türkiye following a fatal accident in Istanbul.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office had issued an arrest warrant for renowned writer Eylem Tok and her 17-year-old son, identified as T.C., following the tragic accident in Istanbul.
The incident on March 1 at around 11:30 p.m. in Istanbul involved a jeep driven by T.C. crashing into a group of individuals checking a broken ATV engine in the safety lane.
The collision resulted in the death of Oguz Murat Aci, 29, and injuries to four others.
T.C. reportedly called his mother for help immediately after the accident. The pair subsequently fled the scene in a rush, abandoning the jeep involved.
A police investigation revealed that Tok and her son headed to the airport at 2:00 a.m., from where they reportedly escaped to Egypt, then to the United States.
Minister of Justice Yilmaz Tunc announced the news through his official X account: “According to information received today from officials of the US Department of Justice, Eylem Tok, and Cihantimur Tok have been apprehended in the United States as part of our extradition request. We are closely monitoring the process at the Ministry.”
