Turkish Armed Forces neutralizes 12 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq. Operations continue to eliminate terrorism in the region

According to the Ministry of National Defense, 12 PKK terrorists were neutralized during an air operation in the Gara and Hakurk regions in northern Iraq.

“Our valiant Turkish Armed Forces neutralized 12 PKK terrorists who were detected during an air operation to the Gara and Hakurk regions in northern Iraq,” the Ministry said in a statement.

“We will continue our operations uninterruptedly until there is not a single terrorist left in the region,” Ministry added.

Known for using northern Iraq as a base from which to plan attacks against Türkiye, the PKK continues to pose a significant threat to regional security.

With a nearly four-decade history, the PKK’s terrorist campaign has resulted in more than 40,000 casualties in Türkiye, including innocent civilians, women and children, and has cemented its status as a terrorist organization recognized by Türkiye, the U.S. and the E.U.
