Turkish Airlines reportedly cancels flights to Iran amid security concerns
Following Iran’s recent attacks, global attention is on Israel’s expected retaliatory strike. In response to rising concerns about the potential conflict, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines reportedly have canceled all flights to Iran until November 1.
Both Turkish carriers made the decision to suspend operations due to the heightened tensions and the expected Israeli assault on the country.
Israel gears up for retaliation
Israel has reaffirmed its determination to respond to Iran’s missile attack, in which approximately 180 ballistic missiles were launched at Israeli territory. The country is reportedly preparing for a significant retaliatory strike against Iran following the missile assault executed by Tehran on October 1. This operation comes amid escalating tensions between the two nations.
As part of its preparations, Tel Aviv is bolstering defense systems to defend against any potential Iranian counterattacks.
Meanwhile, last week, two U.S. intelligence documents reportedly outlining Israel’s plans for the retaliatory strike were leaked and shared on a Telegram channel, which claimed the documents were sourced from within the U.S. intelligence community.
In response to the leak, the U.S. government has initiated an investigation. House Speaker Mike Johnson has voiced concern over the developments, describing the situation as “very concerning.”
