The Turkish Air Forces Command is poised to make a commanding presence at the 2024 Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), held from July 19 to 21 at RAF Fairford, England. This prestigious event will feature a lineup of impressive aircraft and skilled teams from Türkiye, highlighting the nation’s aviation prowess on the global stage.

Leading the Turkish delegation will be the Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker from 101 Squadron, specializing in aerial refueling operations under the theme “SP.” Joining the spectacle is the Lockheed Martin F-16C Fighting Falcon, represented by SOLOTURK Demonstration Team, marking “50 Years of F-16” with breathtaking aerobatic maneuvers. Additionally, the McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II from 111 Squadron will showcase its capabilities with the theme “NATO75.”

One of the main attractions of Türkiye’s participation at RIAT 2024 is the SOLOTURK Demonstration Team. Renowned for their precision and artistry, the team will captivate audiences with their thrilling aerial performances.

Scheduled practice flights on July 18, 2024, will provide a sneak peek into the team’s meticulous preparation and the spectacular maneuvers they have in store.

SOLOTURK, operating F-16C Blok-30TM jet fighters under Turkish Air Force’s third Main Jet Base Command, epitomizes excellence in aerial acrobatics with their signature “POWERDEMO” displays.

Founded on Jan. 14, 2010, by Maj, Murat Keles, Capt. Fatih Batmaz and Capt. Sedat Yalın Ahbab, the team continues to dazzle audiences both domestically and internationally, showcasing Türkiye’s aviation capabilities with pride.

The team made its debut during the Turkish Air Force Command’s centennial celebrations on April 15, 2011, at Ankara’s Akinci Air Base, and has since performed at numerous national and international events, including the esteemed Teknofest Istanbul. Their performances highlight the aircraft’s and pilot’s synergy, pushing the boundaries of speed, agility and precision.
