Turkic foreign ministers meet in Bishkek for key OTS summit
The Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held at the Ala-Archa Congress Center under the auspices of the Kyrgyz Presidency.
Attending the meeting were Foreign Minister Ceenbek Kulubayev of Kyrgyzstan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan of Türkiye, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu of Kazakhstan, Foreign Minister Bahtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto as a representative from an observer country and OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
Before the meeting, OTS Secretary General Omuraliev informed the press that the 11th Summit of the Heads of State of the OTS would be held later in the day in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the summit theme would be “Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future and Security for All.”
Omuraliev also stated that over 100 issues would be covered in the Bishkek Declaration, which would be signed at the end of the summit.
In addition, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kulubayev remarked that the roadmap for the green economy – a topic of strong interest to both member and observer states – would also be adopted during the summit.
