Top PKK/KCK terrorist eliminated in operation in Türkiye’s Mardin
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that Ramazan Aktas, a PKK/KCK terrorist known by the code name “Farasin-Bedran” and listed among Türkiye’s most-wanted, was eliminated in an operation in Mardin’s Artuklu district.
Yerlikaya reported on social media that Aktas was eliminated in a targeted raid under “Operation Gurz-19” by Turkish security forces. The raid, focused on a residential area, led to a firefight.
Emphasizing Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to counterterrorism efforts, Yerlikaya stated, “We won’t let up against these terrorists. Our operations will proceed with determination, every day of the year.”
The operation, led by Mardin’s Provincial Police Department, followed intelligence that Aktas, known to operate in rural areas for the terrorist group, was planning an attack.
Security forces confiscated various weapons and equipment, including an M16 rifle, an AKIS rifle, five loaded M16 magazines, five loaded AKIS magazines, four hand grenades, an ammunition vest, a solar panel and four drill batteries.
Yerlikaya reiterated Türkiye’s resolve, declaring, “We will not rest until the last terrorist is eliminated.”

PKK terrorist group which has offshoots in Iraq and Syria, has been waging a terror campaign against Türkiye for more than 40 years. Listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States and the European Union, the group has been responsible for the death of some 40,000 people, including women and children.
