‘They trapped him,’ Türkiye’s richest woman Ipek Kirac speaks up on father’s marriage

Inan Kirac, one of Türkiye‘s most prominent business figures aged 87, recently married Emine Alangoya, aged 75.
The ceremony was held at the Buyukcekmece Marriage Office. Due to his age, Kirac obtained a health report from Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine Hospital to fulfill the marriage requirements.
Following the marriage, Ipek Kirac, daughter of Inan Kirac’s late wife Suna Kirac, issued a written statement regarding her father’s union.
Ipek Kirac: My father has been trapped
In her statement, Ipek Kirac disclosed that she has applied to the court, requesting that her father be placed under legal guardianship for both his financial and personal well-being.
Describing the decision as extremely difficult, Ipek Kirac stated: “Adopted and raised with great love and care by my father İnan Kıraç and my mother Suna Kıraç when I was just two months old, I would have pursued any other possible solution if even one had remained. However, my desire to protect my father, my sense of responsibility toward the institutions and organizations he manages, and my commitment to preserving the moral and financial legacy of my mother have made this decision inevitable.
My father’s poor choices and behaviors in recent years, frequently reported in the media, have shocked and saddened not only me but everyone who knows and loves him. The frequency and severity of these actions, which we initially found difficult to reconcile with his character, have increased significantly. Recently, it has become evident to everyone around him that he is suffering from ‘impaired judgment and mental health issues’”.
Inan Kirac’s wife: No stranger to business world
Emine Alangoya is no stranger to Türkiye’s corporate scene.
She dedicated 52 years to the financial division of Koc Holding and currently serves as the general manager of a foundation established by Kirac. Both of Alangoya’s daughters are connected to Kirac’s enterprises, with one working at the foundation and the other at Kiraca Holding.
