World’s first and only floating ship TCG Nusret Museum Ship in Mersin opens its doors to visitors, showcasing Türkiye’s naval history and commemorating the Battle of Canakkale

The TCG Nusret Museum Ship has commenced receiving visitors in Mersin. Mersin International Port was the location of the TCG Nusret Ship – which the Turkish Naval Forces Command faithfully recreated in 2011 to commemorate the Nusret Mine Ship’s significant contribution to the Battle of Gallipoli victory.

Docked at the port’s Pier 1, the vessel is now accessible for visitors.

Before their personal exploration of the TCG Nusret Museum Ship, the staff provided pertinent information to visitors, including citizens and students.

On its official Twitter account, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced that TCG NUSRET continued port visits in the Aegean and Mediterranean from April 20 to June 7, 2024.

“TCG NUSRET, serving as a museum ship under the Canakkale Naval Museum Command, continues its port visits in the Aegean and Mediterranean from April 20 to June 7, 2024. Our people in Izmir, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Marmaris, and Kas ports warmly welcomed TCG NUSRET. Additionally, guests visiting our ship in Izmir Port were treated to a concert by the South Sea Area Command Band,” the ministry announced.
