As part of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan, the TCG Kinaliada, currently on a journey in Japan, visited Busan, South Korea, from June 4th to 6th, 2024.

Local press members participated in a press briefing on board the TCG Kinaliada, which was opened to the public on June 4th, 2024. Rear Admiral Yucel Darcan, Head of Navy Personnel, also took part in the port visit. During the visit, Turkish navy personnel paid a courtesy visit to Republic of Korea Navy Commander Admiral Choi Sung Hyeok.

Personnel from TCG Kinaliada visited the U.N. Memorial Cemetery on June 5th, 2024, and held a ceremony at the Pusan Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery, leaving soil from their homeland there.

Personnel from South Korean defense industry firms Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hanhwa Ocean visited the TCG Kinaliada, after which they presented the ship’s capabilities and Turkish indigenous defense industry products to company personnel.

The Turkish Ambassador to Seoul and the Commander of the TCG Kinaliada hosted a reception as part of the port visit. The event was attended by notable figures, including Republic of Korea Navy Commander Admiral Choi Sung Hyeok, United Nations Command Deputy Commander Lieutenant General Derek Macaulay, Republic of Korea Navy Operations Chief Rear Admiral Jaesup Lee, foreign diplomatic representatives, ranking personnel from the Republic of Korea Navy, and Turkish representatives in South Korea.

As part of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan, TCG Kinaliada visited Hong Kong, China, between May 30 and June 1.
