TCG Kinaliada marks 100th anniversary of Türkiye-Japan diplomatic relations with Tokyo visit

The Turkish naval corvette TCG Kinaliada arrived in Tokyo, Japan, retracing the path of the Ertugrul Frigate after 134 years. The voyage commemorates the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan.

The ship was ceremoniously welcomed at the port by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.

During the port visit, a reception was hosted by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Tokyo Korkut Gungen and the Commander of TCG Kinaliada.

Attending the reception were Japan’s Defense Minister Minoru Kihara, Digital Transformation Minister Taro Kono, Japan Komeito Party President Natsuo Yamaguchi, and numerous other high-level officials.

Additionally, international press members, including journalists from various media outlets, participated in the event.

The news was announced through a post on the official Twitter account of Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense.
