TAI exports defense products and services to 15 countries, official says

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has successfully exported products and services under 21 contracts to 15 countries, according to Haluk Gorgun, Secretary of Türkiye’s Secretariat of Defense Industries (SSB).
Speaking at the TAI Management Summit in Ankara, Gorgun said, “Five HURKUS basic training aircraft, 12 Atak attack helicopters, and 75 Anka and Aksungur unmanned aerial vehicles have been delivered to friendly and allied nations.”
He also stated that these achievements contribute significantly to Türkiye’s growing reputation in the international defense sector.

Technology transfer and modernization projects expand global reach
Gorgun noted that TAI has also provided technology and capability transfer to several countries through fighter jet and helicopter modernization projects.
“These export successes are a clear demonstration that TAI has earned global trust, not only through its original products but also through its engineering strength and problem-solving capabilities,” he said.
Gorgun emphasized that further export growth is expected and expressed confidence in TAI’s ability to reach new heights in technology and organizational development.

Record growth in defense and aviation exports
Türkiye’s defense and aviation exports reached $884 million in March 2024, a 147% increase compared to the same month last year, Gorgun said.
Sector exports for the first quarter of 2024 rose 72% year-on-year, reaching $1.7 billion.
TAI played a key role in these figures and closed 2024 with $750 million in exports, making it a standout company in the global aerospace market, Gorgun added.

TAI emerges as a strategic global partner
Gorgun underlined that TAI has grown beyond being a national asset, becoming a strategic partner among major global aerospace and defense companies.
“Today, TAI is an indispensable partner in the production and supply chains of industry giants like Airbus, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin,” he said.
“Through its original projects, TAI not only strengthens its brand but also provides critical contributions to the global aviation sector,” he concluded.
